Heck, the 83 Law's increase in retiretment age affects all those not yet retired.

The Social Security Amendments of 1980 were misused by Reagan - they were simple requirements to confirm continuing disabilty eligibility- but he made them into total review of benefits and a stop benefits until review completed program.

in 1984, The Dems in Congress passed the Disability Benefits Reform Act modifying several aspects of the disability program, including how disability reviews are conducted.

Reagan's Greenspan Commission was the cover RR used to pass a law that was signed in 1983 that increase the payroll taxes so as to fund the tax cuts for the rich (The lie that was sold was that this was "funding" - was called stengthening the system by increasing the reserves in the Social Security Trust Funds - meaning those bonds that were given to SS as RR used the money to cover current defense spending no longer covered by the Fed Inc Tax after his tax cuts for the rich). It also changed the taxation of the benefits that were actually being paid.

So why no media discussion?

1. They're still doing it right now
Converting SS funds to military uses. That's what this military junta does.

2. He was also responsible for
what was called the "notch babies". Those born in 1921. A whole bunch of retirees got lower social security checks if they were born then. My father, a WWII veteran, served at the Battle of the Bulge, got shafted for most of his retirement years.
(I don't know if any others years were included)
