Rush is cornered here, and could face charges in three areas:
1.) Conspiracy (the one I'm putting my money on)...providing funds that were used in the trafficing of a controlled substance. By him giving money to his maid to buy the drugs (and there's been no denial of this yet), he's opened the door wide that his money was involved.
2.) Money Laudering - if it was his money used and he did so transfering funds using any electrical transfer (even ATM), that's considered money laundering...no matter what quantity he withdrew. If it's found he kept is withdrawls just below the minimum that had to be reported, I'd love to hear how the jury debates that one.
3.) Doctor Shopping - if there's proof he had multiple prescriptions to Oxy from two doctors concurrently and it's proven neither doctor knew the other was treating Rush, now we've got some real smoke. If it goes further that Rush didn't really have as bad a condition as the amounts prescribed warranted, then it gets even more fun.
One way or another there should be an indictment with Mr. Limbaugh's name in the New Year. I imagine Roy Black is smart enough to know how far to ride this horse...letting Rush still run his mouth...and play victim...until it becomes fait accompli that going further will completely expose his client's past and current drug use...then we'll hear of a quiet settlement. Rush gets probation and has to do "Community Service" (shagging golf balls at the nearby Country Club I assume), but his reputation has already been questioned.
I'm hearing more and more "dittoheads" struggling to justify is addiction and his crowd of media supporters starting to thin out. This is just a matter of time for Mr. Limbaugh now, his options are to go out with all guns blazing (which it appears he's doing with his unrepentant rants and attempting to play victim) or finally fess up and get the help he needs. Stay tuned. I figure this story should be most interesting in the Spring.
