For Chris Matthews, misogyny pays
Have you all seen the Media Matters expose on the vitriol and misogynist Chris Matthews? If you haven't, it's a must-read. It's time we boycott MSNBC!

Question: Is Chris Matthews the Michael Scott of political talk show hosts? And if so, does that make MSNBC the Dunder Mifflin of cable news?

Matthews has harvested a bumper crop of outrageous remarks during this extended primary season. Specifically, fueled by his obsession with the Clintons (he can't recall attending a single Beltway party where the couple has not been discussed), Matthews has unleashed a flood of sexist commentary.

Continued.

2. I certainly don't dismiss Media Matters' characterization of Matthews as sexist. However...
I'm a little surprised at the harsh critique of the NYT Magazine's profile piece on Matthews, which I found to b an excellent warts-and-all piece on the man.

3. Do you watch Matthews?
I found the Times piece to be completely accurate. He's a sexist, self-promoting blowhard.

4. Not often. And I, too, found the Times piece to be completely accurate...
which, again, is why I'm so surprised that Media Matters didn't care for the Times piece.

6. Certainly they've been more vigilant than almost anyone against perceived misogynistic...
attacks, but I've always considered Media Matters to be a pretty fair source.

8. And how did someone

with such an annoying voice become a news anchor - not to mention his annoying mannerisms. He really grosses me out.

But isn't KO on MSNBC? And Rachel Maddow? Don't want to boycott them. Better yet, boycott the companies that advertise on Chris Matthews' show.

He's already banned in my house and I'm telling all of my friends about just how unhealthy he is to the public discourse.

10. They're right about Matthews, wrong about Olbermann.
They think Olbermann is denying that sexism exists, merely because he made Elton John one of his Worst Persons in the World for his implication that Hillary is losing primaries because of sexism. Duh. He wasn't denying sexism EXISTS, and he SAID that. He was denying that Hillary was losing BECAUSE of sexism.

Sometimes progressives dilute their own arguments by not being able to delineate between the Keiths and the Tweetys.
