DU as TV Channel? As streamer below GoreTV?
to reach more, DU might be broadened out from a "pull media" to a "push media".

A tv channel showing the "Latest" screen's posts with the full OP, not only headlines... could slowly scroll down each OP. Split screen as on the Latest now, with true news aritcle clips on the right half. Mods could cull out freeper posts when they try to load on their posts. Might limit it to "1,OOO plus" member posts.

I think there is a cable channel like this, for AP stories.

ANOTHER IDEA would be to use the ordinary bottom-of-the-screen streamer method, with the headlines of DU-er's OP's.
--- This streamer could be added to GoreTV or any other good one. Might be only during parts of pundit shows, so as not to be too demanding of Gore's kindness. Atop the streamer would be a fixed label, "Go to democraticunderground.com".

This streamer idea might be called an ad with a "free sample" attached.

These ideas are not meant to be finished works, just ideas to get brainstorming started. Please add your unfinished wild ideas. Brainstorming works that way - no criticism, just wild ideas.

2. Podcasting too?
not sure what that is, but NPR says

PHILLY FEED

is a podcast of a newspaper.

Think it is someone reading articles, which are sent as sound files over the net to those who download music etc files into

iPODS.

Then i guess they hear the articles as they go walking around.

Somewhat a type of radio. Most similar to

MAYOR LaGUARDIA of NYC reading Sunday Funnies to kids in 194O's.

DU might be done up this way. Needs someone to read the posts into web sound files. Then a cpr to transmit the files to a mailing list, i guess.

3. DU e-NEWSLETTER sent weekly to newbies
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 07:08 PM by oscar111
i also would like to see DU send out automatically a

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

as many groups do. It gets to those too lazy to click up DU, ... keeps them in touch.

Could just be ten articles from the Greatest Page.

If only DU could reach the thousands of those newbies who registered and do not click up. A no-cost newsletter would keep them informed.
