Tim Russert showed he's for Bush-Cheney after the debate.
Russert knew that Cheney and Edwards appeared on his show, and that Cheney was lying when he said he never met Edwards before, but talked about that line right after the debate on MSNBC WIHOUT mentioning Cheney was lying.

Russert owned up to the fact that Cheney and Edwards had appeared on his show together the next day, after other people figured it out.

1. "Until word gets out on the street"
I'm compiing a list of phrases that I feel represents the times we live in. "Until word gets out on the street" is one of them. It comes from a city attorney who basically condoned an unethical and possibly illegal activity in the city, but said that it was alright "until word gets out on the street." So, in other words, "it's on them" ("them" being the public) to point out the illegal behavior and keep the public officials honest. Of course, once "word gets on the street," the lawyer was quick to condemn the practice that he helped create.

Russert is just like that lawyer. A person who has forgotten the tenets of his profession, and instead, acts as a facilitator for those in power. It's up to the public to keep him honest. And let me tell you, keeping political officials & their facilitators honest is "hard work."
