9/1/2003 - Labor Day appearance in Richfield Ohio by George W. Bush
Not sure if this is posted yet.

George W. Bush will be making a campaign stop in Richfield Ohio on Monday, September 1 (Labor Day).

I, being a government employee, will most likely attend, incognito. Not inside, if you have to pay admission.

I will try to get pictures of the local morans & Bush apologizers. Need a few tips on posting the pics onto a msg. (I do not have a website of my own). Using Netscape, 7+.

The location of his "campaign stop" has yet to be announced, but I doubt that it would be at the deserted gates of Consolidated Freightways, Inc. It would be deliciously ironic, though, since it was on Labor Day last year that CF sent out voice mails/phone messages telling its employees that they would be shutting down and that everybody was laid off.

I will also try to pinpoint (as an educated guess) where the location will be, using opensecrets.org to see what businesses and individuals have been heavy contributors to BodyBaghdad Bush and the GOP.

The "Free Speech" zones would likely be Canton, maybe even Toledo.

1. Count us in
Several members of the peace group I organized will be there....just as we were when Bush was in Canton and Cheney was in Akron.

Keep me informed.

3. Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm from deep in enemy territory
(no, not Wolverine country).

Steelers fan.

Been residing in Ohio (less one year in the actual 'burgh) since 1985. Living IN Richfield since 1991.

Could probably walk to the "rally". Safer.

Steelers, heh? Jack Banaszak was a good friend of my brother. I worked for Adidas when I first ventured out in the world. I know my sports. ;)))))

7. Know what the pissy thing is?
My niece, lifelong Browns fan, goes on a school trip to PGH.

They take tour of new Pittsburgh football stadium.

Bill Cowher pops in, is introduced. He asks if there were any Steelers fans in the group.

Niece says, no, but uncle is.

So, she got to meet the man, and she couldn't care less. I would have nearly kissed his ring for the excitement he has returned to the Steelers.

4. Is Bush going to the Richfield Coliseum?
Uh, they tore it down five years ago.

Seriously, PM me, let's get something going.

5. I wish the candidates..
would have a rally in the same city on that day. They could call it the "Lack of Labor" Day mourning gathering, or something catchy like that. Make the voters laugh with you at the Chimp.. when you do that, you win.

8. Update 8/4/2003 - Possible gathering site
New building that went up. Recently completed.

Sign went up on it sometime recently. "Cisco Systems". Hmmm, looked on opensecrets.org. 2002 election cycle. $36,500 to the Republicans.

Also right next to a training building for forensics, fairly new, under the office of the "Attorney General" of Ohio (for those who don't know, Betty Montgomery, Repub, BS'd her way out of taking heat for a drunken driving incident).

Not far from a couple of other candidates, no info yet on their contribs, Schwab and Bell & Howell.

9. Sorry, correction - not 2002 cycle, meant
all cycles.

Still, that's like Diebold.

And Bell & Howell isn't there any more. Faulty memory.

12. good stuff zbdent
Do not go if you have to pay. First, its morally wrong for the tweerp to get any Dem money, and next, think of your karmatic soul, man. I admire your courage. His entourage drove past my place of work last fall and, well, I know my thought process was not clean.

It is my opinion that * should go no where on Labor Day. Its an insult to all types of organized labor and those who have a better life because of the efforts of those who made the sacrifices to raise awareness of the plight of the worker. In this day of corporate personhood * speaking anywhere to any worker group, union or no, is a slap in the face to the forefathers of Labor.

How can the idiot known as Bush even show his face on LABOR day?
He will get up and give some lame ass pep talk, and the the Chickenhawks will be delighted. Meanwhile, 1000 blue-collar workers somewhere, will be getting the axe!

Bush makes me------>:puke:
