HAMPTON - Presidential candidate Howard Dean brought his ‘Dean for America’ campaign to Hampton this week, hammering away at his key themes - universal health care, national security, education, and national moral integrity - during a stop at the Winnacunnet Road? home of former state Senator Bev Hollingworth.
"We need a foreign policy in this country consistent with common values ... at issue is the credibility of the United States government and America itself," Dean said
"We need a president who will restore honor and dignity to the White House ... and who knows how to manage money," Dean said, referring to a massive federal budget deficit, as well as Bush’s inability to fully fund both special education and the No Child Left Behind Act.
The former Vermont governor - one of nine likely candidates for the Democratic nomination - spent Tuesday evening in town. Hollingworth and her husband, Bill Gilligan, put out a lavish spread for the occasion.
