Repukes will paint Dems are party of MINORITIES
and it will play with their southern strategy while they will go to the big cities and tell blacks they are with them. The Repuke party is the ONLY reason this nation is still a home for racism. Repukes are quick to use the scary black man to get out the KKK vote. Today on NPR lunch local, Wayne Perryman was talking about Democrats that supported KKK and lynching and never once did the announcer or Perryman acknowledge that the Dem of yesteryear was actually a Repuke of today. I could not believe the announcer just let him speak at length and never brought up this point.

Democrats also attacked an e-mail notice about the hearings, sent out by Republicans in Houston, with a photo of Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee, a Democrat who is black. "She'll be there to express her views," it said, without identifying her. "Will you be there to express yours?"

Mr. Norquist said the point of the exercise (redistricting) was to help remove centrist Democrats from Congress, leaving only the most liberal behind.

"Sheila Jackson-Lee will be the spokesman for the Democratic Party, and ought to be," he said. "She accurately reflects what the Democratic Party is about."

Indeed, Richard Murray, a professor of political science at the University of Houston, who has studied the Republican map, said it could eventually leave Texas without a single non-Hispanic-majority district represented by a Democrat.

"His plan basically envisions all Democrats elected to Congress being either from Hispanic-majority or African-American-majority districts," Professor Murray said.

3. Reg Weaver - NEA
I think that's his name, very powerful speaker and education advocate. Hopefully I get the quote right "Our ancestors came over in all sorts of boats, but now we're all in the same boat together". We have to stop letting the crackpot conservatives get away with it. They've been creating racial strife forever. This page on the Wilmington riot of 1898 really shows exactly how they did it then. Hasn't changed much.
