Bending, twisting and distorting the truth really far to bash a candidate
All candidates for President have done something bad. However, some people in here really bend, twist and distort the truth to make an attack on a candidate. Here is how I read the typical bash of a candidate on the DU forum:

"John Smith owned five slaves. He had a great, great, granddaughter that married Ralph Johnson. Johnson was a banker who invested in a company. This company invested in another company that invested in another company that was an oil company. That oil company paid huge amounts of money to an organization that tortured innocent people based on really flimsy evidence that has not been proven. The company then gave money to Johnson's granddaughter who married Fred Albertson. Fred Albertson is the grandfather of a friend of candidate A. Therefore, 'candidate A' is a slave owning human torturing worthless human being so don't support him/her in the election support 'candidate B'."

This is stupid people. Stop posting this type of garbage.

Mike

1. Very well said, Mike
"Therefore, 'candidate A' is a slave owning human torturing worthless human being so don't support him/her in the election support 'candidate B'."

I've been noticing this same thing and it's just making me shake my head.

"Here's a poorly documented accusation about something that KucinichDeanGebhartClarketc. might have maybe been involved with 10-20 years ago. Oh, and have I mentioned it's taken out of context? Nobody should vote for KucinichDeanGebhartClarketc.!"

"Oh, who am *I* supporting, you ask? Why, just because I'm supporting someone else doesn't mean I'm doing this just to try to besmirch KucinichDeanGebhartClarketc. Really...and how dare you say that!"

C'mon folks, as the wise man said, lets try to "accentuate the positive". This smear campaign stuff only plays to the Repukes hands.
