3. Wasn't like you were speaking at any of the pece rallies,John
That you would have to dig up a 30 year old photo to show off your chops.

5. Yoko?
A spokesman for Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, said she was traveling and couldn't be reached for comment about the political use of a photo of her late husband.

A Kerry spokesman said he saw no need to seek Ono's permission to use the photo, which was snapped by a Kerry pal and is a cherished memento in his office.

7. Any links, or is this campaign info
from another campaign? It seems a bit odd for Kerry's campaign to say he's competing with Dean.

Senator takes a flier on Lennon link

A leading Presidential candidate is using a photo of himself posing with John Lennon in an attempt to boost his support among anti-war voters, it emerged today.
Democrat John Kerry has circulated a picture of himself alongside the late Beatle which was taken at a 1971 protest in New York against the Vietnam conflict.
The Massachusetts senator, who is considered favourite to win the Democrat nomination to challenge George W Bush in the 2004 election, introduced Lennon at the rally.
Mr Kerry hopes the campaign flier will help him gain support among more liberal Democrat voters for next year’s primaries.
Rival Democrat candidate Howard Dean has turned himself from a no-hoper to a front-runner through his fierce criticism of the Iraq war.
Mr Kerry, who was decorated for his service in Vietnam, voted in favour of the conflict last year, but has recently started to criticise its conduct.
The text on the Lennon leaflet reads: “While fighting in Vietnam, John Kerry saw that the well-being of the soldiers was being ignored to protect the interests of White House officials.”
Mr Kerry has made similar criticisms of President Bush’s handling of Iraq, and this week urged him to “step forward and tell the truth” about the war.

17. This is still a hoax...
No way Kerry would do this. No way.

Funny, drudge and Inside Politics both used this against Kerry. This is bullshit.

6. I think the picture is cool
distributing it now as sort of a "See, I'm anti-war, too!" (IF that's what Kerry is doing), is kind of lame.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have a chance to meet Lennon (damn you Chapman).

15. RNC quote from the NY Post
The text next to the photo says, "While fighting in Vietnam, John Kerry saw that the well-being of the soldiers was being ignored to protect the interests of White House officials."

Kerry made a similar charge about Bush on Iraq yesterday, "Clearly, it's time for the president to step forward and tell the truth — that the war is continuing and so are the casualties."

Republican National Committee chairman-designate Ed Gillespie said Kerry's blast is just "the latest instance of Democrats trying to get to the left of Howard Dean in appealing to the elitist angry anti-war electorate."

Elitist? Gawd I hate repugs. Didn't want people die for shrub's lies? "elitist". Don't belive Faux news? "elitist". Didn't want tax cuts for the rich? "elitist". REPUBLICANS ARE THE BIGGEST ELITIST ASSHOLES ON THE PLANET!!!!!

16. Imagine if all the people had a senator to rally behind in opposing the
Iraqi War. Imagine if all the people would have had a senator to rally behind in opposing the war resolution. Imagine John Lennon asking for impeachment proceedings against Bush. Imagine John Lennon supporting Chimpy's war resolution.
