Bachmann Faces Hard Truth: It's Still a Man's World in GOP

Michele Bachmann's campaign appears to be in a free fall. The latest poll, conducted by CNN and ORC International, has her barely registering at 4%, having dropped behind even Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich. A question that’s seldom voiced, for fear of sounding sexist, is whether a party dominated by white males and "traditional values voters" really wants a woman at the top of the ticket.

1. Bachmann lives in her own fantasyland, there are no MEN!

Bachmann's decline has less to do with gender and more to do with her agenda. She is an extreme ideologue who cannot win an election outside her district in MN. She is milking her celebrity for all it is worth and you can be sure, she will be writing a book.

Michele Bachmann has obvious weaknesses, I see no evidence her gender has anything to do with her free fall, and this article doesn't provide any. Just a "hunch".

3. I really don't think that's what is behind it

She was a still a woman when she was polling higher, after all. This is your standard primary stuff - every four years you see at least one candidate who makes a big splash and then drops in the polls as reality sets in. I didn't think she would ever have a shot at the nomination, but I am a bit surprised how fast she's fallen. Maybe gender does have a little bit do with it, but I don't think it's the main reason she's being ditched. Her good early numbers were a balloon waiting to pop from the beginning.
