Conservative activists across the U.S. will mark the New Year by celebrating their first year of fighting against their self interests and for the rights of the wealthy and corporate America by hosting their first annual “Stooges Ball” at various locations and on the Internet.
“This has nothing to do with The Three Stooges,” wrote former half-term Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on her Facebook page. “As wonderful as those guys were, nyuk, nyuk, this is about getting thousands of middle-income Americans to serve as pawns of big-money lobbyists and the uber-wealthy. All you folks out there who protested against Obama’s middle class tax cuts and in favor of tax cuts for the rich, God bless you all and everyone have a happy New Year.”
Tea party activist Kyle Wegner, of Dallas Texas, said the goal of the New Years parties is to keep the angry masses invigorated and engaged in 2011.
“As a middle-income American I’m mad as hell that President Obama gave me a tax cut in his stimulus bill. I’m also mad that I’m unemployed and he extended my unemployment benefits so I can feed my family. That’s un-American,” Wegner said. “If he cared about this country he’d be more interested in helping out the wealthy, that’s what the tea party is all about.”
