What makes a state a swing state?
Edited on Wed May-14-08 06:03 AM by Bonn1997
Why doesn't Missouri, for example, count as one? Gore lost it 51 to 47 but would be in the White House had he won it. Hillary's swing state argument ignores several close states in 2000 and 2004 that Obama has won. That's an argument of convenience for her, which politicians make all the time. But my question is why has the MSM concluded that Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio (and apparently West Virginia now) are the only real swing states? And why haven't the Obama people been making the argument I just made? Heck they could come up with their own calculation of swing states and state how many each candidate has won. Then they could say, "we've won the most votes, the most pledged delegates, the most superdelegates, and, yes Hillary, even the most swing states."

1. Because the media tells what we are to consider swing states
The media controls what you are allowed to think.

Maybe they base it on how many of the politicians swing both ways. LOL

2. That's part of it but...
Obama is equally to blame if he won't challenge Hillary's claim that she's defeating him in all the swing states.

3. MO usually is considered a swing state.

This is from 2004, but the nations demographics haven't changed much over the past four years.

4. Either way, Obama is FAILING...
to address the one argument Hillary has going for her: That she's winning the swing states.
