P*ssed off does not begin to describe my feelings!!!
I can't begin to express how much this nomination cycle has begun to bother me...It started out we had such a tremendous choice of candidates running for the Democratic nomination and finally when it narrowed down I could not have been more proud that our party was going to nominate either an AA or Female candidate...I listened to both candidates with an objective mind and finally choose Obama when my first choice (Edwards)dropped out of the race. I did not choose Obama because of "Koolaid" or solely because he gives a good speech, I meticulously sorted through their policies and their debates and concluded that Obama was the better choice policy wise and most electable since his negatives "at the time" were much lower than Clinton's...I was very impressed that he was able to transcend party lines and bring a new young breed of potential constituents into the fold.

That was the situation not so very long ago...the situation today is reminiscent of Republican style politics and filled with double standards, fear, and prejudices. My pride now has turned to outright shame and embarrassment, I sit here and watch a very promising, intelligent, and inspirational candidate being torn down by his own party and fellow candidate. I have watched a double standard applied to Obama that insist he is guilty by association, which is certainly not applied proportionate to the other candidates of either party...rather, their associations are ignored or reasoned with a so what, no big deal attitude. I have watched one candidate side with Republicans in tearing down Obama, possibly destroying our parties chance to win this election and this candidate feels justified in doing so because they were suppose to be entitled to the nomination in the first place.

We have arrived at a place that we should never have had to see, democrat vs democrat, playing the Republican's game, attacking the DNC for being neutral and fair...I have high blood pressure and I can't take anymore of this nonsense, I am very discouraged by the swiftboat style attacks the Clinton's are using for character assassination of a man that has done some very good things for the party...I know this all is just BS, the man is not what the Clinton's, the media, and the Republican's are trying to paint him as...they are playing on the latent racial tension and fear that many in our country deny or choose to act as if it does not exist, but rest assure, it exists and is very effectively being used to sabotage a certain candidate.

The very fact that it is working has caused me huge distress, I always have wanted to think that our people were beyond trickery of this nature and would pass the test by rejecting this crap...I think it is safe to say...I was wrong...we have way to many shallow constituents that are all to easy to be tricked by media special effects and smoke screens. I certainly do not disqualify people for voting for Clinton, I am sure some people are voting because they believe in her policies and capabilities, however, I certainly fault their campaign for waging disgusting, ill intention attacks that seems to raise the question of where their loyalty rests...my conclusion is with their own ambitions.

I am taking a break from blogs and the news...it is making me increasingly angry, sad, and disappointed. Furthermore I can state this with certainty...Barack Obama should be the nominee, if those unfair kitchen sink, media spin attacks had never occurred and both candidates had kept it clean and about policies, he would have certainly been nominated by now and he would have been very undamaged, if we as Democrats had defended our candidates rather than participate in tearing him down these stupid issues would have gone away and would not even be viable in the general...but no, the kitchen sink crew had to cannibalize its very own. The moral and literal ramifications are huge and the full extent of the damage is unknown...I contend it is large and carries long term effects that will corrode the strength of the party for decades to come.

I am at this point with it all....go ahead and anoint and reward Hillary Clinton the nomination for her misguided efforts and disastrous attacks...I will never vote for a Clinton after seeing all of their malicious and devious practices, furthermore the DNC can save a stamp and quit begging me for more donations, because with them allowing this to happen without even a reprimand or standing to the defense of the attacked, I will consider myself no longer a Democrat or supporter of the party...in my eyes it is looking only slightly better than the GOP and that is not saying very much because I have huge disdain for them. I think being Independent and pro third party is looking ever more attractive as my choice of where to place my loyalty..
I am guessing that I am far from alone in this feeling.

1. You need to turn your anger into action for Obama. Go to his web site and make some calls. Clinton
isn't going to win unless you over-react.

You must take action and worry about what you can do, and quit worrying about what you have no control over.

2. I just donated $100 more dollars
I have been a consistent donor...I am terrible on the phone so I try to support those who are verbally more gifted than I...thanks for the encouragement though!

4. Everything helps. But I would encourage you to also try the phones. You just get better the more you
do it.

And we aren't trying to convince people to support Obama. We are looking for those people who already support Obama and working to maximize that support.

We will win by identifying who our voters are so the people on the ground can make sure they turn out and vote.

Also, many people are willing to volunteer and you can give them the opportunity to get involved by connecting them up with the campaign on the ground in their states. I called a woman the other day who was so thrilled to be called and asked to help out, it still makes me high just thinking about it. It's fun and it's also self empowering.

Any way, that's my rap to you! Thanks for caring enough to donate and I understand if the phones aren't your thing. But think of it like this; What if you presented the opportunity to just a couple of people to register to vote or to volunteer who otherwise wouldn't have? We win this one voter and one volunteer at a time.

Keep the faith!

3. I agree with John Q -- all of us who feel as you (and I) do must do more for Obama
I'm similarly ineffective over the phone, but donations are helpful.
We cannot let the media brainwash us into thinking that "all is lost"
when Obama remains in the lead with delegates, number of contests,
and popular vote (if you "count" as A MATHEMATICIAN WOULD, not as
Her Arrogance).

NOT THIS TIME!

5. I take the view that nobody is ineffective on the phones. Some may be more effective than others,
but every voter the campaign identifies as voting for Obama or voting for Clinton is critical.

We aren't trying to change anyones minds on the phones, we are just asking them if they support Obama or if they support his opponent.

This is how we ID who we need to make sure gets to the polls, may want to vote early, may need to register, or may want to volunteer. Calling and finding 15 Hillary supporters in a row is helping the campaign because we can cross them off our voter database and concentrate on getting Obama supports to the polls.

6. If Obama doesn't like all the in-fighting, why doesn't he CHANGE it?
All he has to do is snap his fingers and pretty soon we'll all be treating each other like brothers and sisters, right?

It's just a simple matter of bringing all sides together into one big love-in. Obama knows how to do that, right? He says he does. His supporters say he does. In fact, bringing that sort of CHANGE to politics is exactly what he's running on.

He says he can bring unity and harmony to all of American politics. If so, surely he can start by doing it for the Democratic Party first. Right? Piece of cake, right?

So hand Obama his magic wand and tell him to get to waving.

8. Because it's not up to Obama to change it ....
it's up to us. Those of us who want change will support Obama.

Those of us who don't want change or who have a vested interest in continuing the same bullshit politics will support Clinton or McCain.

Simple as that.

7. More like sick here
I knew back in February that I was a fool for feeling optimistic and hopeful, for believing that just maybe, that the country was on the verge of significant change, a change that would put an end to the endless, pointless posturing and bickering that went on while the problems facing us were ignored.

Look how far we've come. The Democratic primary season has deteriorated into pointless bickering over ridiculous "issues". The attention of the media and public have been centered on the gladiator-like contest.

I have gone from having much respect and admiration for the Clintons to barely being able to stomach the sound of their voices or their images. Sadly, some are in the same place regarding Obama. Clinton has shown herself to have endless energy when it has come to fighting for her chance for power while some of the magic of Obama has certainly gone up in smoke.

Meanwhile I wonder what kind of fool I am to have actually believed that the US is mature enough to possibly elect a black man as president. The same is likely true of a woman, especially one named Hillary Clinton.

I haven't given up hope, there's a chance, maybe a good chance that it will all turn out ok but the chance of four more years of Republican rule are a bit more likely than they were a few months ago.

It is really quite remarkable that with a perfect storm of energy, economic, and environmental problems swirling around us, that the media and public is caught up in the trivialities of the candidates. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this has been typical of the past decades of election cycles.

I don't have the energy to be pissed off, just sick.

the more they remain the same.
