Dennis Kucinich, a closet scientist?
In science it often happens that scientists say, "You know that's a really
good argument; my position is mistaken," and then they would actually
change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They
really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists
are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I
cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or
religion.
-Carl Sagan, astronomer and writer (1934-1996)

9. Seems like a good choice for NC
A Navy Chief...like my brother. Not a rich spoiled kid or RW nut like Jessie Helms.

6. Maybe, but my candidate was gunning for hyperspace.
"I still believe in e=mc², but I can't believe that in all of human history, we'll never ever be able to go beyond the speed of light to reach where we want to go," said Clark. "I happen to believe that mankind can do it.

"I've argued with physicists about it, I've argued with best friends about it. I just have to believe it. It's my only faith-based initiative." Clark's comment prompted laughter and applause from the gathering.

8. I have no plans to vacation on Mars or the Moon
But would prefer that the forests in my Naitonal Parks have trees and clean air when I visit.

10. Sagan and belief

One thing I credit Sagan for is his willingness to admit that belief on the part of scientists does NOT contitute science. This was the point hammered home in "Contact".

7. Do Americans prefer a "stupid" President?
Over an intelligent one? Congressman Dennis Kucinich could run circles around Bush if allowed to debate with him one to one.

But then a four year old could too.
