Hey Yahoo! Users: Come see why Gephardt ought to be the next President of the United States!
Are you tired of the pro-business, wishy washy "new" Democrats (from the Democratic Leadership Council or DLC) that the party has been running at the top of the ticket (Clinton, Gore, Lieberman)? These sellouts are nearly as subservient to business interests and Wall Street as the Republicans. They're so busy chasing the vote of the fickle white-collar suburbanite, that they ignore the needs of the party's base: working folks! Dick Gephardt is one of the few pro-labor Democrats left. He should be our candidate for President in 2004.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gephardtforprezin2004/Though some people say he's DLC, Repub-lite, etc., etc., Gephardt's the most pro-labor of the candidates, so he will keep the union vote in 2004! He also has plans to get our economy back and to take care of our environment.
I know, he voted for the war, but so did Kerry, Lieberman, and Edwards. Edwards is energetic, while Kerry and Lieberman are experienced. Gephardt is both energetic and experienced.
Plus, demographically, he lives in a state which Bush carried only marginally. If he's nominated, and he wins all the Gore states plus Missouri, he takes 271 electoral votes. Now, many of the battleground states from 2000, such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and the aforementioned Missouri have many union voters, so they can carry the day for Gephardt if he's nominated.
Gephardt is NOT DLC, even though he voted for the war. I disagreed with him on that, but overall, Gephardt is the best, IMO.
