All right, this is jumping the gun a little bit (I am confessing to this right now). However, if either Sen. Joe Lieberman or Sen. John Kerry are elected president, a Republican governor will appoint their replacement.
Therefore, who do you think will be appointed. Secondly, who do you think would run against them in 2006?
My own guesses-
Massachusetts-For. Gov. Paul Celluci will likely be appointed to replace Kerry. In 2006, there will be dozens and dozens of potential Senate replacements, however I think that For. Rep. Joe Kennedy II may be a frontrunner.
Connecticut-Should Lieberman be elected president, Rowland (who may or may not be governor at the time, pending impeachment) would probably pick one of the House members (Nancy Johnson, Chris Shays, or Rob Simmons). The Democrat would then pick up the House seat and Atty. Gen. Blumenthal would run in 2006.
