I had a great New Year's for Dean Party last night and this article appeared as the top story on my local paper's, the Norwich Bulletin, front page. The political columnist for NB attended my house party.
http://www.norwichbulletin.com/news/stories/20031231/localnews/139284.htmlKILLINGLY -- Georgette Vachone of North Grosvernordale hasn't been involved in political campaigns in the past, but decided to attend a house party for Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean in Killingly Tuesday night.
"I've just been thinking lately that maybe I should be involved," Vachone said. "Or at least, learn a little more about the candidates than what I know from listening to public radio."
Vachone said she hasn't made up her mind yet regarding any of the Democratic candidates. She's hoping to learn more about each, and look for one who cares about issues that she considers important -- the environment, national health care and equal rights for everyone.
About a dozen Dean supporters attended the Killingly event at the home of former Killingly Town Committee Chairwoman Virge Lorents, one of 29 such parties held across the state Tuesday night. <SNIP>
I've got 4 Dem Town chairs in my area supporting Dean and next week I start contacting the rest. I'm excited!
