New Fliers - Cheney "SLEAZY, Bush INCOMPETENT
The Fliers continue to go up around Portland and Seattle in empty free newspaper boxes and anywhere else we can get them. The objective is to build associations of truth into the viewers of said fliers (Bush = LIAR, Cheney = SLEAZY, etc.)

If you like them, email them to friends, or print and post them in your own towns.

PDF format

Sleazy Cheney Flier
Incompetent Bunnypants Flier
Classic Bunnypants LIAR Flier

3 Million Jobs Lost Flier

Note to Portland, Oregon friends - let's paper the town - accelerating toward Bush's Portland visit later in August.

2. Yes, best to hang on to that job if you can
As others have noted here, 6.4% is not a legitimate unemployment number.

John Challenger of Challenger, Gray, and Christmas (my favorite firm name since Patton, Boggs, and Blow) was on the News Hour last night discussing the hidden unemployed and why the unemployment rate actually matches or exceeds the 10.8% unemployment peak of Ronald Reagan's 1982 recession.

The News Hour investigated and attempted to validate Challenger's numbers. The News Hour number, accounting for incarcerated (has increased 2 million since 1982, when 500,000 were in prisons - say no to drugs, after all. Is this the United States of Incarceration or What? Yes.), disabled (another big increase - much through due to people driven to apply, validly or fraudulently by waves of unemployment, discouraged former workers who have dropped off the roles, etc.

Challenger estimated US real unemployment at around 12%.

4. have a beer and make your own flier
me, i don't read fliers with a lot of verbiage on them, particularly not while i'm motoring down the sidewalk to get to work. your mileage may vary, of course. i'm not going to make wordy fliers, but your may if you like.

best to you

5. more about fliers
these fliers are trying to be more closely related to advertising than to policy analysis. there are plenty of "10 appalling lies that bush told to get us into war" and "bush's 20 shameful lies" lists going around (though libs don't seem to chain email political stuff to each other nearly as much as repugs do - note also that the repug political emails have a high proportion of pornographic content, not that i have anything against porn, mind you, but this phenom just illustrates the level of what is oxymoronically called "conservative thought.").

my goal with these fliers was to hit a person's head frequently with the word-picture associations on those flier, so that the next time my victim saw a news report or news conference wherein the president appeared to possibly be at odds with the truth, my victim's tiny mind would say, "Oh yeah: Bush: LIAR". and eventually my victim wouldn't believe a single word out of bush's asshole mouth. not that a single word out of that mouth is believable anyway.

these fliers were also created so that when a person would, say, hear a stat on the latest unemployment rate, she might voluntarily or not at least get the picture of commander bunnypants in her mind. or when a person heard that dick cheney's former company halliburton had gotten no-bid contracts in iraq, the "SLEAZY" message would be further reinforced in his head. that was the intent at least. i haven't read enough about marketing and mind-control to know how well these tactics work, but i am worked up about these con-men who highjacked the republic, and i wanted try to do at least something to try to improve things in some small way. i'm not afraid to fail, obviously.

thanks for the feedback, but i like the darned fliers.

6. my sister was 8 months pregnant when she got laid off
so she's on disability, not unemployment, benefits. I guess she doesn't count?
