Sign petition to stop Bush from committing fraud!
Did you know that the Bush campaign is committing fraud? $78 million dollars worth of it.

They have crossed a line - blatantly misstating facts about the record and policy positions of John Kerry. They plan to lie their way to victory - but they will fail.

Newsweek says the Bush “word is no longer good”. The Detroit Free Press called the same ad “wrong”.

George Bush’s ad says Kerry supports a $900 billion dollar tax hike. This is completely false, but the average voter has no way of knowing this—and every reason to trust that the FCC would keep false ads off the air.

Bush’s ad also shows Kerry supporting a 50 cent gas tax—a powerfully damaging, and untrue, claim.

This is fraud. I am taking the Boston Globe’s advice to “flag these ads and call the foul.” Join me in demanding the FCC ensures that broadcast stations around the country do not transmit misleading, deceptive and fraudulent political advertising.

2. This may be an agravating ploy and twist of semantics, but
it's not fraud. Let's not be silly.

Anyone with a brain knows what the essense of the charge is - that Bush cut taxes by $900 billion and Kerry intends to reverse the cut. Therefore, that's Kerry's "tax hike". It's a part of political semantics. Don't get fussed over it. No one falls for campaign ad rhetoric.

3. It's not illegal to lie in a political ad
It's astonishing, isn't it? You can't lie about the marvelous bacteria killing attributes of your bath soap or the whitening properties of your laundry detergent, but you can lie your worthless ass off about your opponent in a race for the top office of the country and it is perfectly legal.

Don't be too concerned, though. Kerry has stayed positive and on message, first with his bio ads introducing himself and now his ad on the healthcare mess. The contrast with the barrage of negativity coming from Rove is not lost on people in battleground states, and those lies are starting to backfire on the liars.

Bush is a nasty, lying sack of shit, and people are starting to get it.
