7 Dems Candidates & * in Pittsburgh Monday 7/28 - Any plans?
http://www.post-gazette.com/localnews/20030725presforumreg3p3.asp

"Democrat presidential candidates on way to National Urban League forum in Pittsburgh, Pa. Seven candidates to appear at the 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. forum Monday at conference after Bush's address" (Shrub* is expected to arrive at the convention center between 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.). Both *'s appearance and the candidates' event will be open only to registered conference attendees.

However, we can flash * with some signs. ANYTHING PLANNED TO PROTEST BUSH?

Also, I got this from Dean for America email:

"National Urban League's Presidential Forum
on Urban Issues at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center

Monday, July 28
Greet the Governor at 4:15pm
10th Street Entrance
Then come inside and hear him address the forum!

Don't miss this opportunity to meet presidential candidate Howard
Dean,
listen to him define what is at stake in the 2004 election,
and hear his vision to take back America.

"No other candidate shows his kind of forward motion." - The Des
Moines Register

Not sure how we get in since it is open to Conference attendees only but we can greet Dr. Dean outside before.

1. I'll be there
I will be there, to give the smirk a real "hometown hello" Pittsburgh style, as I have done whenever the sorry son of a bitch has the nerve to visit here -- and then to show my support for the Democratic candidates. I will also cover the event for DU.

If you want a DU buddy to hang out with Monday-- send me a DUmail.

I'll do some exploring and find out if there are any other organized protests going on, annd will post info as I find it.

2. Teresa Heinz Kerry husband *won't* be there? WTF?
He thinks he can afford to miss this? Ay yi yi! This will not play well in Pittsburgh, although we adore Teresa here.

3. I'll be there
I'm going to get a one-day pass so I can see Bush and the canidates. Hopefully I can boo at Bush real hard from where I stand!

I'm sad to see Kerry not make it. Why does he seem to want to blow off anything related to African-Americans (first NAACP, now the Urban League).

5. I'll be there to meet Dean at 4 Pm 10th st entrance - and protest *
at 1 pm if I can sneak out of work. I expect, though, that *'s arrival will be quick and secretive so that we won't even be sure where he will enter which will squelch protestors.

On the other hand Dean tells us when and where to meet him.

7. Good Times
The National Urban League couldn't stand Bush and spent several sessions and talks busting on him!!! It made my day.

Plus I was able to see the 7 canidates speak and they all did a good job. Kucinich, Sharpton, and Dean seemed to gain the most audience reaction. Edwards surprsingly seemed to get the least amount of reaction, interesting.

I've renewed faith in these canidates, the dream team, and wish Kerry and Graham could have made it to make it complete.

I hope all you Pittbsurghers were able to get down and see the canidates! I saw the protests and it brought warm feelings to my heart!
