ACT Maine will be joining with the Maine People’s Alliance, the Maine Council of Senior Citizens, and the Dirigo Alliance to greet White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card Friday evening as he speaks to the Republican Convention at the Civic Center in Augusta.
While Maine seniors enjoy the Maine Rx Plus program, which allows recipients to receive lower-cost prescription drugs, the Bush administration has blocked chances for real prescription drug reform at every turn – by forcing some seniors to pay more under his prescription drug plan, leaving thousands with inadequate drug coverage, and bucking vast bipartisan support to allow Canadian drug re-importation.
We want Mr. Card to take the message back to President Bush that Maine’s Seniors deserve better!!!
We will be meeting at 5:45 pm in the parking lot of the Maine Education Association, 35 Community Drive, just to the left of the Civics Center.
Thank you and see you Friday evening,
Rich Pelletier ACT Maine
