Who's Down For an Organized Boycott of All Fox News Sponsors?
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 05:46 PM by soundgarden1
I think DU is powerful enough to make them feel this in the pocketbook, which is the only sensory organ of Fox to begin with.

We need a comprehensive list of all sponsors you see on Fox News. I have pulled these companies and institutions from Fox News' homepage.

Best Buy
Samsung
Kennedy-Western University
Autobytel.com
Forbes Magazine
agora-inc.com
athenainstitute.com
GoToMyPC
HomeGain

4. I already boycott a lot of stuff
Examples: Nike (overpriced third world sweatshop crap, CEO is a pig) and Dominos Pizza(CEO is a major funder of anitabortion gangs). I always ask myself how much human misery went into making a product, and what sort of weasel is raking in the profit from it.

6. Thank you for the list
Wal-Mart and Coors were on the list a long time ago, but I was not aware of Domino's Pizza funding right wingers. No more Domino's for me. Thanks!

8. Dominos Pizza used to be owned by Tom Monaghan
who funds a lot of right wing causes, including anti-abortion groups. He even funded the drive to overturn Ann Arbor's lenient $5 marijuana posession fine!
He has since sold the company to an investment group. A lot of the managers are still there, and are still disciples of Monaghan.
Word is that the company will go public soon.
I'm sure the company still has that right wing corporate culture that forces it's employees to 'toe the line'. Yeah, go ahead and boycott them.

7. McDonalds.
Joan Kroc gave a billion dollars to the Salvation Army and much of the rest of her fortune to other charities.

For that alone, I'd argue that McDs doesn't belong on that list.

In addition, they openly hire more minority, elderly, and physically challenged people than almost anyone else.

9. Interstate Batteries

is run by an ex-alcoholic who now insists that the employees have prayer time at WORK! And pushes his newfound Christianity down everyone's throat. Most people don't have to be pushed though. They seem to be really into it. (Check out the mission statement on their Website, if you don't believe me...http://www.ibsa.com/www_2001/content/about_us/mission.asp)

I have a friend who's a Jehovah's Witness who was asked several illegal questions during an interview, all religion/prayer related. She got out of there as fast as she could.

11. Not only that, but request to have the channel blocked
by your cable company or satellite company as "offensive" content. I can't help but wonder if that might not register with someone.

12. Good idea
Sounds like a good idea, you might also like to visit www.livemarch.com and get a campaign going to send a barrage of emails, faxes and phone calls to Fox.

I've not watched that excuse for a channel for over 1 year now, as I got rid of satelite.

13. here's my .02
i think it a good idea. i say boycott everything though. people in the states need to consume less. stop shopping. any fox news is bad news in my opinion. post some addresses. i love to write to big companies, do it all the time. oh...and everyone should boycott wal-mart. regardless of their affiliation with fox, or lack thereof. wal-mart is THE worst . . ..

15. online protest
Patrick, why don't you set up an online protest? As well as boycotting of course.

If you go to www.livemarch.com, you can set up a protest for a certain date and then when the countdown clock hits 0 all the supporters of the protest would send emails, phone the companies, fax them, and visit their website.

You could schedule several protests to target a certain company on a certain date, and it's fairly easy to set up your own website as well to help advertise the protest.

Just an idea, but it may be quite good at helping people to have their say.

A website has been set up for the "Tell Bush the world says no" campaign you may like to see at http://geocities.com/tellbushtheworldsaysno . Perhaps you could set something similar up?

as i recall from perusing that oh-so-objective (but sort of a guilty pleasure of mine) drudge report, i remember reading an article a day or two ago about a bunch of people in the federal government with bogus advanced degrees, "earned"...errr....purchased from diploma milll institutions. kennedy-western university was one of those named diploma mills...they're also advertising on faux news? big surprise...one piece of fake shit promoting another...
