Seattle-area - Don't Let Eyman Control the Debate!
Tim Eyman just emailed his supporters asking them to show up at the Washington Federation of State Employees gubernatorial forum this Friday and harass the Democratic candidates. Well, two can play at that game.

Anyone who can attend, please see attached the letter that Eyman sent to his supporters about harassing the candidates, and if you can, register to attend and contribute your own views. Don't let a single-issue horse's ass control the debate!

On Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at 03:19 PM, Tim Eyman wrote:

I'll be going to this event and would welcome as many of our supporters as possible coming also. Let's go straight into the lion's den and talk directly to these potential governors:

* Ask them how they feel about taxes, especially property taxes (are they too high, too low, and what they plan on doing about taxes)
* Ask Ron Sims if he'll lead the state the same as he's done for Sound Transit
* Ask Christine Gregoire if she'll aggressively defend I-776, especially now that the Supreme Court has upheld it
* Ask Phil Talmadge if he would have upheld I-776 if he was still on the Supreme Court

Let's keep focused on THE issue that will not be addressed at this forum unless we bring it up: taxes.

Email or call them and reserve your seat. I hope to see you there.

1. you need to leave that state
It just seems so odd that one little fucker can have that much clout. Plus, if the Sims is going to be the Dems leading frontrunner, you all are REALLY in trouble. He's a fucking hack. Have all the good Dems left the state??

I'd like to go HST on both Eyman and Sims, but I have more Reagan-bashing to do in GD. ;-)

4. that's good
I'd support her. I just saw "SIMS" and my eyes went red, lol (told you my reason, although I'd still not like him anyway :P ). But Christine could kick some serious booty. We have a kickass woman Dem governor down here in AZ, so the nation could use one more!

Well, you aren't exactly going to get ANY kind of disagreement about your assessment of Eyman, other than I think you are being easy on him. I can think of LOTS better adjectives for him, but they'd get deleted. :D

3. Any good Democrats in Seattle/King County/Washington?
I've asked people to name one elected official in Seattle who isn't corrupt on public forums, and I've never received a serious response. Replace Seattle with King County, and it would probably be the same. There are probably some honest Democrats in the state - though I doubt that there are any in state government. Washington's Republicans, of course, are just as bad. The Green Party of Seattle is also corrupt, and it appears to me that our local Libertarian Party is a sellout, too - either that, or they're just incredibly stupid.

5. Just out of curiosity,
what evidence have you of corruption for Gregoire?

6. I'd have to sift through my files for a detailed reply, but
she lost millions of dollars due to a scandal a couple years ago. Someone in her office made some really stupid decisions - like not even bothering to show up in court, or something like that, and I don't think anyone was held accountable.

Gregoire has really made a name for herself among social activists in relation to child abuse, DSHS, etc. Her middle name could well be "Child Abuse." Contact Wenatchee Pastor Roby Roberson, of "Wenatchee Witch Hunt" fame, and ask him what Gregoire ever did to help any of those poor people.

Also, search for evidence that Gregoire has ever spoken out clearly and strongly about any important issues. She served as a YES man for Gary Locke, one of the biggest criminals in Washington State history. She simply has no positive track record, that I'm aware of.

Unfortunately, the other candidates are no better. I don't know much about Talmadge, but he was given a lot of publicity by the Seattle Weekly - which is far more corrupt than most people realize. A friend told me that Judge Talmadge took an elderly man's home away after he was busted for possession of marijuana. If true, then screw him.

And Ron Sims? Good Lord.

8. Dan Evans...

Our best Democrat is a Republican...

I'm way too young to remember his governorship, but he's currently on the Board of Regents at the University of Washington (where I study).

A few months ago he spoke to the student senate and I was extraordinarily impressed...my folks tell me he's the only republican they've ever voted for...

7. An update!
The WFSE was notified of Tim's plans, and they have since enacted a strict policy that only union members will be admitted. They made it clear that this is to be a private event. Thus, unless you are a WFSE or AFSCME member, please do not attempt to enter the auditorium.

Tim Eyman apparently still intends to show up, and he is urging his supporters to do so as well. But let this be about his rudeness, not ours.

Yeah, stand in the lobby and make a horse's ass of yourself, Eyman, you bloviating lunatic!
