My letter to the Lexington Herald Leader, KY was published!
Yahoo! This paper is the "official" repug rag that is the point/counterpoint to the more "liberal" Courier-Journal in Louisville. Never thought they would print my letter -much less under its own separate section, little headline as an editorial! (It was too long according to their guidelines and they did edit down the quotes from Chimpy and Snotty Scotty.)

PRESIDENT SHOULD RID WHITE HOUSE OF ROVE, OTHER MISINFORMATION TACTICS

With the allegations of leaks, we have the Bush administration scrambling to cover for high-level officials. This activity has become almost a weekly exercise at the White House.

We now know that false information was fed to Congress, the media and the American people to make a case for war to protect Americans from a "mushroom cloud."

We now know there were conflicts within the administration over Saddam Hussein's attempts and ability to amass nuclear weapons.

We now know that the misinformation about Iraq's nuclear capability was allowed to be inserted into the State of the Union address in 2003 despite discussions and objections within the State Department and the CIA.

Now, Karl Rove -- White House deputy chief of staff, political operative and Bush confidant -- sought to discredit former Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his article critical of the White House.

It became important to smear Wilson by any means to quell any possibility that Congress would question the administration's agenda for war or endanger President Bush's re-election.

Will this administration remove dirty politics from the White House? Rove needs to go, and the country deserves assurances that this will never happen again.

2. Great letter!
I've been a Herald-Leader reader since back in the day it was two newspapers, The Herald and The Leader and, though I no longer live in my beloved Kentucky, I still read the H-L online most every day. I'm delighted to see your very fine letter there.

Thank you for writing this and working to open people's eyes. Keep up the good fight!

3. Thank you. I appreciate you kind remarks.
We have got to turn our beloved Kentucky back to blue. The people of this state are slowly turning back from the darkness. Each day I see more and more people questioning this administration. (It doesn't hurt we have our own little repug governor is immersed in his own little nasty scandal - after promising to "clean up" Frankfort following Patton.)

Kentucky has its own version of Karl Rove in Mitch McConnell - there is no dirty trick, nasty rumor or smear he isn't above using to keep getting re-elected. I have made it my personal mission that the next time he is up for re-election I am going to go to as many of his political stump speeches here in the state that I can. I am going to be a thorn in his side with question after question. There is nothing he can defend his "record" with except "I did exactly what Chimpy and Rove told me to do."

4. Kentucky is turning back from the darkness
That suggestion gladdens my heart.

Hmmm, a Republican chief executive who is an incompetent crook? Somehow, that has a familiar ring....

And I could not agree more about McConnell. He is vile. Anything you can do to thwart his re-election is a service to Kentucky, America and the world.
