DFA: 24-Hour Fillibuster Protests outside courthouses nation-wide
(Duplicate, but I thought my catchier title would get more people to read it)

24 HOUR FILIBUSTER at Courthouses

Local grassroots groups are organizing a 24 hour filibuster - midnight to midnight on the steps of the Joseph Moakley Federal Court House, Boston to protest the threat by Senate Republicans to use the "nuclear option" to prevent the use of the time honored procedure of filibustering.

The rally which starts at five p.m. on Wednesday, at federal court houses across the country, needs a large turnout to demonstrate the strong support this fight has among progressives, and conservatives concerned with the dismantling of the systems' checks and balances.

You can stop by on the 27th and be a reader or go to the website and contribute materials to be read or spread the word to friends, family and the media. Or attend rally at 5PM

1. I'm not anywhwere close to Boston. Is this something that can be done
in front of all Fed. court houses across the Country? It see it's is being promoted by Moveon. I think this could have been a terrific promo, but there's really not enough time between now and Wed to make a nationwide protest!

2. Hmm... counter? nah...
Just fit right in.

Take signs with subtle meaning the fundies might miss.

Be sure to have a cover story about your church and how "grandma always said it'd come to this."

Take a sign that says:

"Activist Judges rule against God!"
-or-
"Activist Judges aren't Good Christians."

Something that would clarify subtly that these people want religion legislated.

Bet they'd take you in.

3. Yes. We're having one in Minneapolis

It's not too late to organize. I've checked and a lot of rallies have 25-75 participants.

We've been at it a few days and we have almost 300 people signed on so far. :bounce:
