'Cruelness' in 1946
Activists push to get Walton lynchings prosecuted

By JEFFRY SCOTT
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 04/03/05

<snip> "I came down here a day or two after they killed them," said Stewart, who is the sister of the only known living witness to the Moore's Ford Bridge lynchings of July 25, 1946. <snip>

On Saturday, marchers, led by state Rep. Tyrone Brooks (D-Atlanta), and organized by a group that calls itself the Moore's Ford Memorial Committee, sought, by publicizing the Moore's Ford case, to pressure authorities into prosecuting it. <snip>

In a 1992 Atlanta Journal-Constitution story, Adams said that, as a 10-year-old boy, he told a deputy sheriff what he saw and was warned if he spoke again his family could be killed. <snip>

Anyone who was an adult back then are now at least 78 years old. Who are they going to prosecute? I think the time is long gone on this cause.
