Add your name to moveon message to Congress re Schiavo grandstanding
"Congress must stop grandstanding on the Schiavo tragedy, and move on to the legislative business facing our country."

3. Or maybe a rehab center for meddlesome control freaks?
That'd be my choice for Congress, but as a woman in America, I see choices slipping away are a rather frightening pace. I vote and machines overturn it. I go to the pharmacist for pills and get refused. I want a decent future for my daughter and she gets hit with a national debt she will be paying on her whole life. I want to know that if I am in a hopeless vegetative state, I will be allowed to die peacefully, but all bets are off on that one too.

At this point, with not much more to lose, I might choose loose cannon.

But I signed the message to Congress cuz we need to remind them EVERY CHANCE WE GET that WE are the government not them and WE will hound their asses until they get it.

5. I added a commnent with my signature.
"This whole affair has been disgraceful. The Republican controlled Congress has been exploiting a personal family tragedy for politcal gain. It is disgusting!

While DeLay and others are beating their hypocritical breasts about this poor brain-dead woman, millions of conscious and aware Americans have no health insurance and are thus condemned to die, yet Congress cannot lift a finger to save them.

Thousands of solders, and even more Iraqis have died for a war based on lies, and the war and deaths continue. Hundreads of people have been tortured or killed in prison, yet Congress worries about a woman who cannot feel pain?

Congress passes a tort reform law, aimed at malpractice, yet Frist commits maipractice by diagnosing someone based on a few minutes of a four year old video clip.

Bush rushes back to DC to sign an unconstitutional bill in his jammies, yet he was the governor of Texas who signed a bill authorizing hospitals to "pull the plug" if patients disn't have enough money and wouldn't recover. Rather than a "culture of life", he was the governer presiding over a "culture of death" of prisoners on death row.

Government has no business in these kind of personal decisions. Government is supposed to be about the rule of law, not taking the law into your own hands, if the law doesn't please you. Read the Constitution that you have sworn to uphold and then beg your God for forgiveness for your sins against the American people."

6. My message to them:
"It's hard to believe the GOP leadership could sink this low. There are important issues facing the nation like health care (for working families and old people), education, and the budget deficit. There is no crisis with Social Security right now. Privatizing it would only make it go bankrupt sooner the 2042. Now the GOP wants to pass a legislation based on one disabled person in order to pander to right wing religious groups and their beliefs? This is getting ridiculous. Hypocrisy like this is absolutely atrocious. It is dangerous as well. That's all I have to say."
