Some ideas for protest tools that have a big visual impact......
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 01:54 AM by Dover
You know how advertisers often use those huge movie and photo projections on the exterior walls of large buildings? How would that work as a protest tool?

Or how about using images on cell phones in some new way, or any of the new technology to 'pass the message' along in large crowds of protesters?

How about the massive use of the color blue at the inaugural? Blue lights, blue clothing, just paint the town blue.

1. A Blue protest! I like that.
Use blue as a theme. We already own it, develop it.

Of course not all protesters of Bushco are Dems....
But it would visually show solidarity of a message.

On edit: Just saw a post about protesters all wearing the color orange in this week's protest. Not sure why that color, but it doesn't really matter what the color is so long as it becomes the standard and symbol behind the message imo.

5. Orange, akin to the Ukrainian "Orange Revolution"?

3. Clothing - blue jeans, blue shirts, gray sweatshirts
Ordinary clothing, nothing that makes anyone stand out or that would not be otherwise useful, but nonetheless functional as a uniform once you have many people together wearing the same thing. Also, actually marching instead of ambling down the street - lines and rows of similarly dressed people sends a strong message that we are organized, we are disciplined, and we are dedicated to the message and the cause and not just out here for a social event.

That was taken in March 2004. I was in Dublin at the time. I was sitting in a cafe eating breakfast and I looked out the window and saw that...right across the river Liffey. It was great.
