Blog Graham--the original "blogger" goes online

Senator Bob Graham, who has kept a daily diary for more than 30 years, has now joined the ranks of online bloggers.

He'll be posting frequently, along with a whole cast of characters that includes family, campaign workers, friends and supporters.

Be prepared for a blog that doesn't take itself with deadly seriousness, and yet deals with the serious issues facing this country. Yes, Bob may tell you what he had for lunch, and at the same time ask for your opinion on the war in Iraq and "Osama bin Forgotten."

So join us, have a little fun, get serious. Tell Senator Bob what YOU had for lunch, or give your opinion about the artistic value of the "butter cow" statue at the Iowa State Fair. Sound off about his vote against war in Iraq, or tell us what you think of his plan to balance the budget.

Blog is short for "web log," an online diary and commentary.

We call Bob Graham the original blogger because he's been keeping a diary for longer than any of us. To our surprise, that got some knickers in a twist, because his diary wasn't online, so it wasn't technically a "web" log, and Bob was accused of stealing you-know-who's thunder.

However, we stick to our guns. Anybody who's had the self-discipline and success from keeping a diary for 30 years that Bob has had is the Honorary Original Blogger in our book.
