I see a bunch of ignorant ranting and mockery, and the persistent attempts at shaming of people presumed to have brought the issue in the first place. Have you been reading these boards for the last couple of days?

Even if the word in question were to take the role of the N-word here, that would not completely shut down it's use or discussion. That line of thinking is just a red-herring. In fact it would likely increase discussion each and every time a newbie wandered in, made the remark and wondered aloud what that was all about.
