our dog goes in for surgery today... good thoughts appreciated
She has a very large fatty tumor on/above her right shoulder..
we are having it removed because it's making her "hobble" a bit when she walks/runs

She's a 8yr old airdale, in good health (other than the tumor) - so we don't anticipate any problems... but good thoughts are appreciated

5. Channeling healing love your way
to your pet airdale....I love airdales and was raised with one when I was a child...My airdale, whose name was Jingles, came into my life when I was 3 yrs old and he was around until I was 16 yrs old ( 13 yrs)...So being yours is 8 years old, your airdale should have a long happy life ahead... I am visualizing your pet and sending healing thoughts in the name of my beloved Jingles.... My Jingles will help your pet recover.....Let us know how your pet recovers because I know that it will... Be brave...It is going to be alright and you will still have many many years together ....

10. You certainly have mine, and that of both of my dogs
I have been through surgeries in the past few years with my dogs, and know it was scary as hell. I was unwilling to have my 17-year-old cocker, Barney, undergo dentistry, though I know he needed it, because I was just so scared of having him undergo a general anesthetic at his age. My thoughts are with you and your precious pooch.

11. Good luck to the pup
and family. Another thing to think of is to nip these things in the butt before they turn cancerous. I'm not sure an Airedale, like some breeds (Boxers etc) are prone to cancer but this a smart thing to do.

13. Let us know how she is doing
We hope that you have good news. My Barney had one of those fatty tumors removed from his side, at a much older age, and did just fine. I have thought of her many times, today, and sent positive thoughts.:-)

14. Our dog lived four more years after having one removed
So she should be all right, if all goes well, and enjoy a few more years of life. :)

15. My dog lived for six or seven more years
after this kind of surgery. I never knew his exact age, but he was 10 or 11 when I adopted him and I had him for eight years. The prognosis for this is very good.:-)
