I never liked westerns, but I am LOVING "Deadwood"

It's on HBO, in case you have not seen it yet.. It's aired 3 episodes, and they are all going to replay on this Friday.. Check your listings.. It's "a bit naughty"..and the language :eyes:...but it's got to be the most realistic thing I have seen in ages.. It's a keeper..

4. Exact same here. Never watch westerns...glued to Deadwood

Fascinating show. I've never wanted to see a fictional character get shot as bad as I want to see Al Swearengen get gunned down by somebody. Can that actor do putrid evil or what?

6. Love all Westerns, even cheesy ones AND Deadwood...

I love the way they are portraying alcoholism & abuse of women in the old West- realistically...

Not too similar a movie- but "Hidalgo", starring Vigo Mortsen was very exiting...

Something else to look forward to: HBO is filming 12 episodes of 'Rome,' told through the eyes of two Imperial footsoldiers returning to the city after being away at war.

HBO is gonna have to invent another Sunday pretty soon...

Deadwood is the first HBO show that I've never shown an interest in and hell I watched Carnival. I don't know, I'm tried of male dusty shows I guess.

12. Carnivale was one that I could not get "into"

It reminded me of a dustbowl "twin peaks"..

I had recorded Deadwood, and had not even watched it until I hade all three episodes.. The previews did not interest me, but before I deleted them, I thought I would at leats watch the first one..

The characters are very well drawn, and I really like it.:) Surprised me..I thought I would not.
