Doesn't anyone think poetically anymore?

I slowly and quietly
open my eyes
and look around
inside this room
and I follow
the stealthy shadows
that followed other shadows
all through the night
from the light of the moon
while my eyes were looking elsewhere
when my dream filled eyes
hugged the darkness again
and then
I awake
too soon?
I look around
and hear the sound
that my heart makes
when it knows
the sun is chasing
the shadows
I rise and think
I'll make this new day
much better
Today I
will follow the sun.

watching lovers on screen
kissing in a kissing scene

instant butterflies...
thoughts of you arise

intense passion comes and goes
in between, pain ebbs and flows

one clear memory stays frozen in time:
ice cold pepsi, from your mouth to mine.
