6. My mom told us about this little baby that was going to come and spend Xmas with us.
.
.
.
We were pretty perplexed at the thought of parents who would leave their
baby with us during that season.
.
.
The "baby" was a just-weaned farm puppy (a beautiful mid-sized collie)
that our parents "adopted" as one of our gifts.
.
THE BEST ONE EVER!!!!!
.
I won the puppy-naming contest with "What does Xmas have in common with
a dog on the beach?
.
Sandy Claws.
.
.
.
Sandy was a sweet, gentle, bright, playful and protective part of our
family, both loving and much-loved, for 15+ years.

14. Yes, I like it too!
Not our Sandy, as she crossed the rainbow bridge 30+ years ago, but wanted to share pic of the breed, Bedlington Terrier. Very sweet, friendly, and bright(AND no shed!)

11. Make sure you have at least one BIG box that they can play with!
Most 4 year olds LOVE to both unwrap, and then play in, the BIG box!

Its like the best prezzie ever! Trust me on this. Even if the only thing you wrapped in that big box wss a DVD (stuffed with lots of newspaper!), the box will be the big hit!
