MERRILL (WAOW) -
Merrill police arrested a man after he called himself in for drunk driving.

According to a report from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, the 21-year-old Merrill man called 911 around 9:00 p.m. Sunday night and told the dispatcher that he was driving drunk and wanted to go to jail.

The dispatcher convinced the man to stop driving and police found him on the 1300 block of West Main Street.

Police arrested the man on first offense OWI after he failed field sobriety tests.
