Heineken commercial questions
What the hell is this commercial all about?

I'm talking about the one with the Conan O'Brien look-a-like, with the singer singing in a foreign language (sorry, don't know what language) pulling a Heineken bottle out of his mouth, a magician pulling a rabbit out of the blue, stirring things in some kitchen. Don't know what it's all about.

Is this some sort of pop culture reference I'm missing?

2. But the band is ON FIRE!
I'd put up with that club just to listen to them lay down the groove, especially the guitar player.

:smoke:

3. Sounds like a throwback song from a sixties japanese exploitation movie.
I think I heard it before.

7. It's actually a throwback song from a Bollywood movie
Jaan pehechan ho is Hindi for, roughly, "We should get to know each other better."

9. Thanks!
That explained a good part of it to me. It's a little obscure, but it now seems to be explainable.

Rehardless, I like the Dos Equis series of "The Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials more!

8. I don't know, but I rather like them
The Conan clone is a likeable guy, engaging with all kinds of different people in that commercial and in another one. I'm still not going to run out and buy Heineken, but I like them more than about 98% of the commercials running.

11. Apparently a disconnect between the product and the commercial is
a current trend. The other night I attended a focus group and was shown three possible ads for a local casino, none of which specifically mentioned the casino. I fail to see how not being able to tell what the ad is for is a plus, but according to the guy running the focus group, this type of ad is popular.
