RC Helicopter flight via remote camera

I posited the idea that someone participating in the various OWS demonstrations might look into doing something like this, but I think my post was either "lost" or ignored for some reason. I know y'all will like this whether my idea is worthy of GD or not ;)

3. my son spent almost 600 bucks

for an RC helicopter and camera and not even 5 minutes after he got it put together and up in the air a really strong wind came up and blew the whole thing out of the neighborhood. He searched for days and never found it so it either went to RC Helicopter heaven or (more likely) came down in someone's yard and they kept it.

I didn't think to ask him that but I did ask if the camera was still transmitting.

It wasn't.

But I'll make sure he writes his name on the next big thing he buys...

5. My husband and sons

fly RC planes and helicopters and often mount cameras on them to take videos.

Most if not all RC flyers are sensitive to wind. Some are also pretty expensive and not something most people would want some stupid repuke to shoot down at an OWS demonstration.

but I would think that if anyone attempted to shoot one down, they'd find themselves arrested faster than any of the protesters.

Remember, though, that there are also OWS protesters with money. I could see a resourceful one with a small "fleet" of copters and streaming HD cameras set up on a rooftop and switching out copters as their batteries or fuel-tanks run out. If I had the money, I'd do it in a heartbeat! :D
