I absolutely LOVE and cherish my overlords but I EFFIN' hate

cleaning the cat box. Does anyone have a self cleaning cat box and does it work? I know there is some cleaning involved but these guys are so picky if I miss a day they pee outside the box and its wet underneath. Also, I have one cat that will pee in my HAMPER and I have to toss the clothes. I know that it is partially my fault because I waited a little to long to have him neutered when he was a baby. But damn, he is 10 and he doesn't do it all the time so I know he doesn't have too. Any advice cat people? I have 3 cats and 2 boxes. My house is small so I have no place for 3. As it id now I have one where I truly don't like it.

1. I think one of those would scare the shit out of a cat - while they're out of the box.

I wouldn't subject a cat to one of those devices.

My daughter loved that chair but she loved the cat even more so she started being more diligent with the litter box. lol

but DAMN! Cat pee is a nasty nasty thing! I am shocked Dubya didn't look into using it for a WMD.

3. I used to have a Litter Maid

I think that's what it was anyway and the cat I had then hated it. It has motion sensors so it waits until the cat is out of the box to rake but she hated the noise so she would pee directly on the rake and the litter would stick to it and clump up so the rake wouldn't move and it would make a horrible racket. The cat won, the litter box went away and I had to go back to scooping myself.
