Austin DUers -Bizarro's PolitiComedy-a-Go-Go this weekend 4/9 &10
Austin area DUers this would make a great DU outing. Does anyone want to get together and go see this as a group. I called the Veleeta Room and the tickets are $10. They don't do advanced sales or take reservations so you just have to go early. I'm in, anybody else want to meet up and laugh our butts off?

Dan Piraro, New York-based creator of the newspaper comic, BIZARRO, has rummaged through every bar, comedy club and drunk tank from coast to coast and collected a veritable army of stand-up comics with political and social axes to grind.

Beginning in the heart of Bush country with shows in Austin, Dallas and Houston, this quartet of liberal wisenheimers will reach out to voters and bitch about the issues all across the country from now until the first Tuesday in November. Not the sugar-coated, corporate-approved drivel you're used to seeing on TV, Bizarro's PolitiComedy-A-Go-Go is an evening of unrestricted freedom of speech from some of America's brightest comic minds. A wide variety of targets will be skewered including drug laws, corporate crime, global warming, gay marriage, Philip Morris, the erosion of democracy, and of course, Genghis Dubya and his Millionaire Marauders.

2. So are ya in GOPisEvil?
You have to love the ComicsAgainstEvil url, isn't that great. Unfortunately VelmaD will be out of town but I know there are other Austin EvilDUers who need a good laugh.

We could do an early dinner if we make it Saturday.

7. Lets do Saturday then the 8:00 pm show
Maybe if we can meet somewhere close by for a snack or early drink to make sure we get in. We probably have to be in line by 7:30 or so. Any ideas about where to go downtown for eating and drinking? Somewhere within walking distance.

9. That sounds good to me
OK here's what I found out about The Paradise Cafe. Looks like the food menu has a lot of variety and the drink specials for Saturday are
Long Island Tea $2.95
Tecate $2.00.

Looks like a good choice.

Paradise Cafe
401 E. 6th St.
Austin, TX, 78701
Tel. 512-476-5667

Velveeta is just down the block at 521 E 6th St, so that's close enough.
So to be on the safe side how about we meet there at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Feel free to bring friends, spouses or SOs, as long as they know we will be trashing bu$h. I'm bringing my SO and he's looking forward to meeting my evilDUer friends.
