Might I ask for some opinions?
We're putting up a new website for selling the knives that a dealer offered to us. I've done the main page but Paul and I are trying to decide which looks best (and the only difference is the way the sword is pointing...) and I told him that I would ask some people who are far more intelligent than either of us.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any so I'll have to ask the wonderful members of DU. (And yes, that was humor and I'm not trying to annoy you.)

So, if you've got a few moments to spare would you please take a look at the following pages and tell us which you think looks best?

4. It's new...
They sent us the catalog last month and we've decided to give it a shot. That, plus the fact that it will allow us to send more money to the shelter. <SMILE>

3. Now that is odd...
They work on both computers at home. <Sigh> Always a problem you Texans! <snicker>

Thanks for trying, though.

5. Either one of the last two.
I like the sword pointing up...but the ones on the diagonal are kinda nice too.

7. Since you asked
personal preference is www.knifehaven.com/index.html. Any of the others would do quite nicely.

Good job on those.

9. I like the angled swords.
The small red text is a bit difficult to read on the textured background. I would suggest possibly enlarging the type size a touch or possibly lightening up the blue background color. Just my 2 cents. Maybe it is just my aging eyes this morning.

10. Small?
Wow. I actually thought it was a big large. It's size 36 font. But thank you for pointing it out!

11. It might just be me.
I went back to look at it again, and remembered that I usually run on smallest text size. When I bumped up to medium, it was easier to read, but the color contrasst was still an issue.

My husband is starting to work on web design, and we always have a problem picking out the color combinations that look good and are still easy on the eyes.

Good job on the site, by the way.

The other poster is right about the text being hard to read. Maybe lighten up the background a little. :-) Great job!!

13. I like ab, and a different background
I was going to suggest a subtler background, perhaps a bit lighter? I tend to think it looks more professional, and is easier to read. JMO, though! Good luck with the site, looks cool! Let us know when it's really up so we can come peruse! :D

15. I like that background better...also prefer the angled swords
They bring the eye in toward the center of the page...less distracting.

Like it! Are you trying to go for a very professional look? Because we could get nit-picky and really critique you :P
