Naming dogs and kids....

I had two really good friends growing up, all three of our families were social.

But one of the families had a son named Bo, and a dog named Luke.... and the other had a dog named Bo, and a son named Luke.

Dukes of Hazzard references aside, anyone else ever have this, ah, uncomfortable yet pleasingly funny situation?

1. Yes, I had two cats named Duffy and Oliver once...

....and I later found out a friend of mine's mom had two cats named Duffy and Oliver too.

2. My SIL stole my future son's name for her dog.

Their dog is Sammy, and I'd always thought that Samuel would be a good name for a son. :shrug: We had two daughters instead, so there wasn't any problem.

4. I have relatives named after

movies, book and TV characters, athletes, etc. but I like all of their names. I have a friend who was almost named Barnaby Jones. I know he's glad his mom was talked out of it.
