Just curious how high is your stress level, on a scale of 1-10.
I would say mine in now about 3.

Last year when dealing with my parents it was a solid 10.

I found ways to to deal with it, and get rid of it.

Last year I didn't think I would make it.

It has taken a full year to get this far.

Take care of yourself.

we witches must support each other in these wretched times. :-)

So many people I know are anxious or depressed or both. Some hide it like I try to do but it is hard.

11. I tried to be the strong one, but I reached my limits.
I am so thankful for nursing homes, just couldn't deal with my parents anymore.

I just had to walk away, until it was time to deal with the funerals.

I am still careful about dealing with personal stress.

Sometimes you have to just walk away.

8. About a 9
But I am trying to make peace with the fact that I could lose my job any day. Unfortunately it isn't because the business is decreasing. It is because it is increasing faster than ever, there has been some major changes, we are understaffed, and I just can't seem to get everything done well anymore. I received my "final warning" but I honestly don't know how I can possibly do much better. Maybe if I can get over my fear of getting fired, I'll be much better off. I might get fired but maybe it won't be catastrophic. Maybe it will be a relief.

I'm working this job I do not like, have not liked the last 3 years, I have a supervisor who has treated me incredibly horrible in the last several months (it's to the point where if it weren't the family business I would look into filing harassment charges), no one seems to get the dire straights I'm in, and I cant seem to find any way to exit my situation other than quitting. I've been in two car accidents and lost half my savings in the process, and no one seems to get it.

25. I thought things couldn't get worse in the past several years
Several losses, including both my dogs, and 2008 was pure hell. But then I lost my mother last month. It doesn't get much worse than that, and it was an accident, so there's no way to prepare. ;( Fortunately, I found a way to give up alcohol or I don't know where I'd be now. And DU helps keep me sane... :hi:

51. I can't believe that I was fortunate enough to find DU at just the right time.
I never took much of an interest in politics until after 9/11. That scared me witless and woke me up, started me reading and researching what was really going on in this country and the world. And I certainly wouldn't have survived the 2004 election without DU. If you remember, there were two GD forums, one to express anger and the other to find sympathy. I posted in the latter. I felt actually sick for weeks... ;( DU is my home on the internets. :hi:

26. When I started in sales with my company there were 64 of us.
Now there are 45 sales people, but only
SEVEN of us are still here from 8 years ago.

Better salespeople than I have been "let go"
over the years, when they need to shave head
count, they just push out any "trouble makers"
and then lob off of the bottom of the rankings.

I am not a "trouble maker", and I always manage
to stay off of the bottom tier, but I KNOW my
day will come.

Stress City.

Many weeks I WISH they would fire me, just so
I can get a break from the unrealistic sales
"minimums" that no one ever hits.

Stress level is usually anywhere from 5 - 11.

5 when I'm with customers, 11 whenever I get
assigned to a new manager.

29. Going through a major change in family/life right now, so would have to say it's up to a 5 or so
Something that should have happened long ago, so I'm trying not to sweat it too much.

The hardest part is temporary living arrangements until things are settled. Then I've got to figure out what to do/where to go. I think that's more stressful than getting things finalized.

It is very common for caregivers to have PTSD, I had it.

All is good.

38. I am hanging pretty steady on a 9. It was at 10 since 2/14 when my
whole world came crashing down but, with time, I took the lemons life gave me this year and made some pretty decent lemonade. It is not quite finished but, I have made enough progress to come down to a 9 and hopefully bouncing on 8 by the end of the year. If my strategy works the way I plan I will be down to a 5 by this time next year. I never get below a 5. Not ever in my adult life. I wouldn't know what that feels like. That much safety and security. It would be amazing.
