There's a local restaurant near here, that occasionally puts on "special events". They're usually a good deal, and can be a lot of fun. A few months ago they asked me if I'd like to get on their mailing list for upcoming events. Usually I decline getting on any mailing list, but this time (probably in post-event alcoholic bliss) I said yes.
Today I got an email about an upcoming event. What I also got was the name and personal email address of hundreds of other people, in the cc: line. Of course, they all got mine too.
I immediately replied (not "to all", though believe me, I did consider it), asking them to remove me from their mailing list, and why.
First rule of customer group emails - use bcc or a mail merge!!
