Preidential IQ's
A friend sent me this - but first a few disclaimers.

The link she sent is not working. I went out to www.rense.com and did a search for this info but couldn't find it.

I have no idea how reliable the site is or where the numbers came from - but this is kind of fun:

The study determined the following IQs.
Franklin D.Roosevelt (D) 147
Harry Truman (D) 132
Dwight D.Eisenhower (R) 122
John F. Kennedy (D)174
Lyndon B. Johnson (D) 126
Richard M. Nixon (R)155
Gerald Ford (R)121
James E. Carter (D)175
Ronald Reagan (R) 105
George HW Bush (R)98
William J. Clinton (D) 182
George W. Bush (R)91

3. Clinton has the highest of all IQ's on the list
That I could believe. I think Dumbya's IQ is just about right, maybe a little higher then it should be.

4. I think this is an urban legend....
It first showed up on a Russian site, I think, and a lot of people linked to it and spread it around.

Even so, the general suggestion that Demos are brighter than Repugs is a given.

:P

Cheers.

7. it's a hoax but...
...the reason it's such an effective hoax is because the numbers just feel right. We nerds and former nerds have a feel for how intelligent people are, and so the numbers just seem to feel right.

Although I think 91 is a bit high for Chimpy's IQ. And 182 for Bill Clinton would put him in Isaac Newton territory, which is perhaps unlikely, brilliant as he is -- IQs over 180 are not really accurately measureable, people who are making up the test are psychologists with IQs in the area of 130 to 140 -- you get to a point where you can't really figure out how to measure people above a certain level. But, brilliant as he is, I would question whether we should try to put Clinton as one of the most outstanding minds in all of human history. :-)
