None of us can claim with a straight face that we've never done anything illegal, be it speeding, drunkenly stealing a shrink-wrapped pickle from a bowling alley or hunting the homeless for sport. But on the whole, we're upstanding citizens. After all, it's not like we're out there breaking the law on a daily basis.
Wanna bet? Because all of the stuff below is illegal in most of, if not all of, the United States. If you live outside the U.S., you need to double check to see if you can get jail time for ...

I've broken 4 - I've used unsecured Wi-Fi, I've sung Happy Birthday, I've carried permanent markers in my bag and I'm sure I've used a fake name on the internet somewhere.

How many have you broken?

1. none
I don't sing in public. It is only illegal to carry permanent markers in a public place, not illegal to own them (yes, I read the entire article). I don't have a computer capable of connecting to a unsecured wifi, and whenever I fill out an online registration I give correct information. I don't bet unless you can count playing slots at a legal casino and I have never written anything that could be considered disturbing.

2. It's only illegal if you get caught. That's my credo.
Along with F**k 'em if they can't take a joke. :P

4. It's only illegal if you get caught.

Most of those laws are stupid. Especially the permanent marker one. That means every college student should go to prison for using highlighters to highlight in their books. :eyes: And if people are stupid enough to keep their wifi unsecured, they're inviting people to use it.

Tomorrow, I'm going to my campus library and highlighting my book in public. Fuck the law!

Edit: How can you get in trouble for possessing a permanent marker? I mean, aren't we all supposed to be innocent until proven guilty? If you're not vandalizing, how can you get in trouble?

5. Boy, there's a relief!
I didn't see anything about burying all those dead bodies in the basement.

For a minute there, I thought I might be a criminal or something.

And to all you bastards singing "Happy Birthday" without paying the royalty, how on Earth do you sleep at night?

6. I own markers and have written 'disturbing' things
but I've never been caught. Living in Florida, I will not admit to most of the following, either (well, one I'll admit to):

You may not fart in a public place after 6 PM.
It is considered an offense to shower naked.
A special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday.
Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal.

9. Not only is having sexual relations
with a porcupine illegal in FL, but I would imagine it's not exactly a pleasant experience.

19. I doubt that Rick Santorum would approve of sex with a porcupine either.
And I am quite surprised that he never mentions this in his usual rants against anything other than missionary position sex between ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.

20. Has anyone checked Rush Limbaugh's flight records to places where porcupine sex is legal?

7. Plenty of places that offer free wifi have it unsecured.
So are they offering an illegal service?

11. you actually have to be in their place of business to use it
If you happen to be sitting in the park next door and using it - that's technically illegal

17. That's a different story - the WiFi is out there so everyone can use it
But that's not the norm for most city.

If a business has free wi-fi it's for the implied use of customers within their establishment. If you happen to be sitting (or living) near the place with free WiFi and you opt to hook into it - then you are technically stealing their bandwidth.

18. I have never stolon a shrink wrapped pickle from a bowling alley or anywhere else!
However I have done 5 of the 6 things mentioned there. As far as I know, I have never written any "disturbing material". Had disturbing thoughts, yes, but I never wrote them down.
