Wots yer favourite Stones album?
I do not make this a poll simply because bootlegs might be involved.

Me? Either Let it Bleed, Exile on Main Street or Between the Buttons.

3. Sticky Fingers, and Beggars Banquet. Out of Our Heads is real good too.
Edited on Wed Sep-28-11 12:02 AM by abq e streeter
Still have my vinyl copies of all 3, including the Sticky Fingers zipper cover.

If I had to pick just one, I guess I'd go with Sticky Fingers, but it'd be a close call.

6. I'd say Beggar's Banquet, although December's Children is dear to my heart, being the first Stones

album I ever bought.

I've never understood why some people like Between the Buttons. IMO, most of the songs on it aren't that great. I've been listening to "Who's Been Sleeping Here?" on Youtube and it's great. But the
rest of the songs I don't think are that good.

I'm referring to the American album; I don't know what all is on the UK one.

9. Let it Bleed and
Sticky Fingers, with SF being #1 if I am forced to choose. Mick Taylor's guitar solo on "Can You Hear Me Knockin'" is exquisite beyond words and Bobby Keyes' sax solo is right there as well.

15. That's the fact,
JACK!! The way Mick T and Keef "talk" to each other with their guitars is spine-chilling. A little back-and-forth, Taylor gently asking musical questions and Keef responding. It's like Keef nods "go, Mick" at some point and Taylor takes off to a very cannabis-fogged stratosphere. Mick T was the best lead player the Stones ever had.

I recently read a newspaper interview with Bobby Keyes, who said that the band, sans Mick J, was just noodling around with the end of the song, so he went in to the studio and started to blow. And that take was used on Sticky Fingers, much to Keyes' amusement.

18. Great record- only released in the US, not even a "real" Stones record.
It was compiled from tracks shaved off the actual Stones approved release in England...

But who cares, it is still a hot record just the same!

14. Black & Blue
Because it is the only Stones album I ever owned and because it contains my favorite Stones song: Memory Motel

I can't explain why but the line:

What's all this laughter on the 22nd floor?
It's just some friends of mine
And they're busting down the door...

- just. wrecks. me.
