... as it was an extremely EASY course to pass.

The professor was good, though... and made it interesting -- if not challenging.

1. I took geology - almost got a minor in it
Easy As but I enjoyed it. It helped that Dad is a mining engineer and I grew up with rocks all over the house. I didn't have the chemistry background to actually get the minor though I was only three credits short.

The professor was an early adopter of plate tectonics (shows how long ago I took it!) and I did a project for him, putting the continents in their locations in ?? era on a globe. He'd only done the projections on flat maps and seeing them on a globe helped with some of the problems with how they related to each other.

When our science class in high school covered geology, our teacher assigned finding three different kinds of rocks - a real challenge in Central Florida where you get sand, asphalt and more sand. Dad wouldn't let me "borrow" rocks out of his collection so I got creative. I went along the railroad tracks where they had brought in real rocks to hold the ties in place. I found granite, schist, mica and quartz. The teacher was impressed. Dad was even pleased with how resourceful I was.

2. I loved geology...
I took a course in college. I've always been intrigued by different types of rock and how they went through all the changes to become what they are! I, too, have a house full of rocks; they're everywhere. When people ask me why I have so many of them, I just say "I like them". If I find anything like a large sheet of mica, I'm ecstatic! Do not fear; you are surrounded by rock nerds.

3. I loved it.
A fraternity brother of mine ended up as chair of the Geology Dept. at our alma mater.
