A 90 minute training on telephone hardware. HARDWARE.
This is a handset. This is a mute button. The handset is high definition. The calls will be super clear. This is a keypad. This is a voicemail indicator light. Let's review the mute button.

The very best part is that the training ran 5 minutes long.

If anyone needs me, I'll be reviewing the help wanted ads for the rest of the afternoon.

7. It went so far beyond nightmare that it came out the other side as delirious hallucination
I have a handout of a diagram of a phone with each button labeled to prove it. There's a label for "Standard Dialing Keypad" and a little arrow pointing to the number buttons on the phone.

3. I'm guessing MrCoffee answered an ad for Help Desk or a similar
Call Center type job, and the training on hardware alone was meant to run 90 minutes on five-minutes worth of material.

6. No, it's my regular job that I've had for 6 years...we're getting a new phone system
And we had training about the new phones. Not the software we'll be getting to go with the phones, not the procedures for setting up voicemail and out of office notifications and changing passwords and whatnot, it was training about the physical phones themselves.

We talked about the mute button. And the LCD screen on the phone. And the high-definition handset. For 95 minutes.

4. Hah, wait until the REMEDIAL training
when you talk into a mute phone (or worse, talk when you THINK it's muted).

Remedial training? Can I just do twenty pushups instead?

:hi:
