Seriously Bath Salts? You have got to be fricking kidding me?
Ok well technically they aren't bath salts, they just call them that so they can legally be sold in the United States. Although from what I read this stuff really fucks you up, even after you stop doing them you never really get rid of the paranoia and psychosis.

Never even thought about it til I read this article in my local paper. It seems this stuff is everywhere and anyone can find it. Geez they are fricking injecting it and what's worse - the guy behind the counter who sells it to you will tell you how to use it.

1. I heard of them recently
my co-worker had to call the police on her son in law because he was acting crazy and roaming around outside in the middle of the night shining flashlights and yelling very loudly and it was scaring my co-workers mother.

Turns out he had used bath salts and was completely out of his mind. He was put in the hospital and was in a medically induced coma for a while. He is out now, but they say he may never be normal again.

3. There was a police officer murdered in Delaware 2 weeks ago...
and from what I've read, they think the guy who did it was high on bath salts.

Our state is already enacting the ban.

But think about this - if these rinky dink stores already have their stock then it's as simple as keeping it hidden except for known customers.

2. They have already been
'outlawed' in my state. Have a 51 yr old relative that tried them one time, had a stroke while walking home and stumbled into traffic and got hit by a car.....he will never be the same again. We also have a local problem in the area with some people riding to the next state where it is still legal to sell it in stores and bringing it back for resale on the illegal drug market since it is cheaper than cocaine or meth. The junkies also like it because it does not show up on urine tests. I have seen first hand the destruction this stuff causes and cannot believe it is sold in convenience stores and pot will still get you arrested.

4. this was on NBC news last night
A story about police being called to a house because the neighbors were hearing gun shots. When they arrived they heard more shots. They went inside, took the guy's gun and subdued him. He said he was firing at the people who had killed the guy who was lying in the back bedroom. They checked, and there was no corpse anywhere in the house. The guy was out of his mind.

5. These people get sent to the hospital - normal sedatives won't calm them down
They almost have to be strapped down and put under anesthesia just to get them under control.

I mean I realize the thrill of getting high for a bit of escapism but why anyone would want to even touch this stuff is beyond my comprehension!

6. They aren't talking about Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate), but Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV)
the latter of which is a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI)that just fucks with the norepinephrine and dopamine interactions in the brain and well, gets ya like stoned, man.

7. Take too much mag sulfate orally
And you'll be too busy sitting on the crapper to be much trouble to anyone else.

Take it intravenously, and you still won't be much trouble: you'll be dead. We used to use it on the maternity ward to bring down dangerously high blood pressure fast. Worked real well, except it has to be titrated carefully, cause it can suppress reflexes - you know, like breathing.

Expect some idiot somewhere to hear that it's possible to get high by injecting bath salts, with predictably tragic results.

13. I know I wouldn't use these bath salts for bathing
But calling it some 'Chemical shit we made in China to really fuck you up' just isn't going to get past the FDA so they call it "Bath Salts" since they kinda look like bath salts.

I wonder how many people actually snorted real bath salts. Like the poster below me said - it really would just make you crap like a champion.

I love my Epsom salt baths. Especially with my fractured vertebrae. Feels good.

11. This is what happens when you ban harmless mind-altering drugs like pot.
People look for alternatives, even if they are dangerous shit.

15. bath salts are also banned
i don't think bath salts users are taking bath salts because they want to obey the law

i think they are ALSO smoking pot and it just isn't enough for them, they want visions too i guess

legalize pot, fine, but don't kid yourself that if you legalize pot, it will stop any self destructive loser from trying the new drug in town, that didn't work with booze, beer is legal and people who want to get out of their own heads still try the illegal stuff just as well

nobody looks for an "alternative" to pot, they are doing all of it or anything they can get

24. it isn't that a lot of people do it, few people do it but...
apparently the results are so frequently catastrophic, we had like four people get in the news by getting in a coma in a short period of time -- it may have been the medically induced comas another poster mentioned because they kinda went crazy and ran amuk first

drug news tends to be local news and the fad may not have hit your neighborhood

They outlawed "Spice" here and I swear, the next day there were stories in the paper warning about "Bath Salts".
Basement pharmacists work fast...
